The Glass Museum stimulates creative talent in youngsters

  • Summer workshops end in this well known cultural center after having undertaken 350 educational activities for youngsters from the general public
  • 124 children had fun while learning to create their own characters, landscapes or sculptures on glass

During MUVi’s summer workshops the children had fun while learning

As every year, the Glass Museum (MUVi) opened its doors during the summer vacation to offer summer workshops that sought to stimulate the creative talent in young children from Monterrey.

“We are very pleased with the response we had as this time 124 children showed enormous enthusiasm during their stay in our installations”, confirms Alejandro Gebara, Head of the Glass Museum.

He adds that the activities began on July 14 and ended on August 9, centering on three basic activities: “Vidriolos” (images of characters created on glass), “Arenalina” (creation of a landscape over glass) and “Mosaicoco” (creation of free form sculptures).

“A total of 350 activities were undertaken as each child asked to participate in at least two or up to three activities during their visit; in addition to the activities they performed we gave each one an educational storybook about glass”, he explains

Andrea Delgado, in charge of the Educational Services area, mentions that it was a very gratifying experience to observe the ways the children had fun while learning.

“On more than one occasion it was 6 PM (the time to close the workshop) and the children simply wanted to continue with their activities and their parents had a great time watching and participating next to the kids”, she comments.

Once again the MUVi confirms that it is a cultural space for all ages and youngsters enjoy a lifetime experience.
