Vitro has supported educational programs for children and adolescents through the FEAC Program since 1942.

Education has been a consistent priority for Vitro and as proof of this Vitro sponsors four schools in Monterrey through its Educational Foundation, A.C. (FEAC) established in 1942 and which this past August 18 opened its doors to 1,665 students for the 2008-2009 school year.

“We are very pleased to observe the enthusiasm shown by the students in opening day of  classes beginning a new chapter in their scholastic career after last year’s 441 students who graduated”, confirms Gilberto Cepeda, General Coordinator for the FEAC schools.

The Program administers four learning institutions that include a kindergarten, two elementary and one secondary level school. They function with a staff of 94 people that participate in the school year.

According to Raúl Chávez, Personal and Family Development A.C. and Educational Formation A.C. Manager, the Vitro schools make a very positive contribution to the healthy development of the community by offering a series of advantages.

Reasonable tuition fees are applied, below the market average, and they also offer special fees to children of Vitro employees”, he points out.

Of a total enrollment of 1,665 students in the 4 schools, 292 are children of Vitro employees.

441 students graduated in the last school year.

“These educational institutions are distinguished by their philosophy based on family values and sound business ethics contributing to the integral formation of the students; in addition we are truly committed to quality education”, he assures.

Proof of this are the results in the results that our students have attained in the “Prueba ENLACE”, one of the most important tools for student evaluations used by the Mexican Educational System that is applied to public and private schools in the country.

In the 2006-2007 school year, of the 68,568 elementary schools (both public and private) in México, the Industrias del Vidrio Primary placed #782 out of the national total, and the Roberto G. Sada Primary placed #3,696. The Rómula Garza secondary school placed #840 out of 23,379 secondary schools in México.

One student from the Rómula Garza secondary school stands out. Cynthia Elizabeth Castillo Silva received honorable mention from the President of México for her high scores in the “ENLACE” exam. She previously had graduated from the Industrias del Vidrio primary school.
