Vitro Automotive earned the certification of the European Norm
The Vitro Crinamex Automotive plants, ATX and Vitro Flex were certified under the European norms Economic Commission of Europe - Regulation 43 (ECE-R43) confirming that their products meet the safety regulations in order to be installed in the automobiles that travel within the European Union as well as other countries that follow these regulations. The audit was performed as part of a plan undertaken by the Automobile Certification Unit (UCA) in Spain together with similar organizations of the countries that adhere to the Geneva Treaty for the purpose of registering, updating and regulating all the manufacturers of automotive components used in these countries. Carlos Gómez, Manager for Quality Assurance at Flat Glass explains that the audit, in addition to the certification for those models that currently do not have it, allowed us to update and standardize the certificates currently falling under the ECE-Rule 43. “To receive this organization’s certification a great step forward for us, as it allows us to increase our product offerings; for example, in tempered products for the replacement market our product line consisted of around 50 products and now it has grown to between 450 and 500 different products”, he points out. Tereso Torres, responsible for coordinating the audit for Vitro Automotive, emphasized that “…as part of the evaluation 83 tempered samples were tested and 124 windshields without any deviations which confirms the superior quality of our products”. He adds that this audit and certification is required for laminated and tempered products by most of our current clients as well as potential clients. |
