The third generation of High School graduates received their diploma

  • Vitro’s gymnasium was witness to the third generation of graduates from the company sponsored program “Prepa Empresa-Vitro” on August 25 of this year.

29 students received their diploma.

Thanks to the joint program between Vitro and the “Regiomontana” University (UR) 29 students received their diploma from Nicolas Palacios, Director of the Pre-University; Abel Segovia, coordinator for the system; as well as Abelardo Martínez and Hector Luna from Vitro.

Palacios said the Regiomontana University leaves its campus and takes the classrooms to those companies that request this type of program.

“It’s a learning process in itself to discover that persons in all stages of their lives need education; it’s important for us to extend its reach to any where we can and the UR continues to form integrated models”, he comments.

Rogelio Gonzalez de la Fuente, Human Resources Manager for Vidriera Monterrey, said he has always been proud of the university as it has always supported Vitro any of its proposed projects.

“We have always strived to have an excellent relationship with this institution in every aspect; in this case we are very grateful to UR for giving the opportunity to these students to graduate from high school which will make them better persons and citizens day after day. Congratulations to all of you graduates”, said González.

Within this third generation of graduates Martha Esquivel and Juan Covarrubias finished in first place for their progress with Candelario Vázquez finishing second and Catarino Muñoz in third place.

Palacios said the fourth generation is close to graduating with 20 students who began in 2008.

“The fifth generation is being formed with 76 students signed up so far; one good result we are seeing is that of the three generations already graduated, 80 students are enrolling in the different university career programs offered by UR”, he confirmed.

This joint program between Vitro and UR began in 2005 and its objective is the continuous improvement of the company workers as well as achieving a higher level of education within the organization. Through this program a total of 94 employees have graduated so far.
