• The China Certification Agency “Safety Glass Certification Center” approves our quality in an audit they recently performed.
• The recertification validates that Vitro manufacturers world class automotive glass products.

The certification agency from China checked even the slightest little detail.

After successfully being approved following the audit performed by the China Certification Agency “Safety Glass Certification Center” for Vitro Flex, VAU (CIM plant) and VAU (ATX plant), all pertaining to Vitro, the facilities have been recertified for their superior quality standards, a key requirement in order to export automotive glass to this largest of Asian markets.  

The evaluation process consisted of reviewing the compliance of the Quality Assurance System as well as the regulations established by the People’s Republic of China for automotive security glass.

“The results were very positive as the auditors observed an elevated level of implementation and compliance of the quality system, a high degree of technology and systems applications and a high level of involvement and responsibility by the personnel”, points out Tereso Torres, Laboratory Coordinator for Vitro Automotive.

He adds that the visit by the auditors was very productive and gratifying as more and more customers seek certified products for their value chain.

“We’re very proud to have earned this recertification, validating that our products are world class, in a timely manner that allows us to increase our presence in the Asian market”, he comments.

The glass for models GMX-322 / 226, GMT-166 / 168 / 900 of General Motors, as well as UN-93/173 / U-204 of Ford, and likewise JC-49 / PT-44 and JK-Jeep of Chrysler will be assembled in Detroit, Michigan and will be exported to China along with some other countries in Europe and the Americas, for all of which we have the corresponding certifications.

The audit that took place last August was performed under the responsibility of Xiao Pengjun y Li Fujiang, representatives from the Safety Glass Certification Center which is the agency responsible for administering, certifying and authorizing automotive security glass products that enter the country.

It is worth mentioning that all the products that were approved by this agency are marked with a “CCC” logo.

“We are quite impressed by what we have seen during this audit, as the rating that was reached is the highest or one of the highest that we have ever seen by reaching 96.4 points out of a possible 100”, commented Xiao Pengjun, one of the auditors.
