Clínica Vitro shares its best practices

Clínica Vitro was awarded the National Quality Award in 2007.

For the purpose of reviewing and understanding Clínica Vitro’s Quality Assurance model a team of colleagues from the Family Medicine Health Unit Number 36 in Tijuana visited Clínica Vitro facility last July 21st  as part of their preparation to participate in the National Quality Awards.

The representatives that attended the meetings from Clínica 36 Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) were headed by its director, José Tomás Martínez; while on Clínica Vitro’s behalf, the participants were: Gabriela Araiza, Johanna Romero, Alejandro Alí and Gerardo Garza (Patients), Daniel Huerta (Results) and Claudia Servín (Planning).

“We gave a thorough presentation of our Quality Assurance model, high lighting the criteria areas where the visitors were interested in a more in depth understanding as well as answering their specific questions where they had doubts”, comments Manuel López, who acted as moderator in the session.

He adds that they also undertook several comparative analyses regarding the cost of first level services, ambulatory surgery, dialysis and chemotherapy.

Clínica Vitro was awarded the 2007 National Quality Award by offering superior health services of the highest quality standards.

Additionally, it maintains its re-certification as a Major General Hospital with 30 beds given by the General Health Council; the ISO 9001:2000 certification in all of its medical and administrative processes and is accredited under the norms 15189 from the Mexican Accreditation Entity for its Clinical Laboratory which became the first laboratory in the state of Nuevo León to receive such credentials.

He concludes by saying that, “it is a great privilege to share our Best Practices with the Family Medical Unit Number 36 from Tijuana who, in 2007, was awarded the IMSS National Quality Award elevating it to one of the best clinics in the country”.
