The Vitro Employee's Report System moves forward
Congruent with the company’s commitment to operate with the best practices for corporate governance and business ethics, as well as maintain a philosophy of continuous improvement, Vitro announces that its new operating platform for the Vitro Employee's Report System (ERS) is fully operational. Through this scheme, whose new supplier is Global Compliance Services Inc., all Vitro employees, as well as clients, suppliers or any interested third party, can make anonymous denunciations about any irregularity related to Accounting, Internal Control, Auditing or any deviation from our Code of Business Conduct and Professional Ethics in our company. “The system has evolved in a significant manner and the proof of this is that in the beginning it worked very efficiently for our Vitro personnel and, since December 2007 and for the purpose of making our operations more transparent with our clients, suppliers or interested third parties, the tool has also been available for external people”, affirms Rafael Colomé, Vitro Vice President Administration and Tax Compliance Corporate. He adds that the system is very easy to use as it’s only necessary to have access to a computer with internet and sign into the following link www.watcher.alertline.com or call from any location in Mexico to 001-877-LEALTAD (001-877-532-5823) free of charge 24/7, 365 days a year. If the call originates from the USA the number to call is 1-877-780-9370. “The process is completely confidential and keeps anonymity when the person chooses that option while making a submission either by internet or by phone. All calls are answered by an external operator; and the internet site uses technology that assures that all the information sent is encrypted and protected from hackers, and it is neither allowed nor possible to track the messages sent”, he explains. To call from another country or to obtain more information about the ERS, please click on the following link: http://www.vitro.com.mx/vitro_corporativo/inv/english/sda.htm The ERS joins other initiatives implemented by Vitro to adopt the highest standards for corporate governance, a strategy which led the company to being recognized in 2009 for Best Practices of Business Ethics in Mexico, acknowledged by the Mexican Philanthropic Center, A.C. (CEMEFI). |
