Thanks to its extraordinary efforts for the benefit of the environment, last October 2 Vidriera Querétaro was awarded the Certification as a Clean Industry on behalf of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (PROFEPA) pertaining to the Mexican Government’s Secretary for the Environment and Natural Resources.

The Certificate, in its fourth renewal, was delivered to Víctor Cervantes and Raúl Ramírez, Legal Representative and General Secretary for the company Union, respectfully, from Arturo E. Ortiz, local Queretaro Delegate for PROFEPA and Irma Sánchez, Assistant Delegate for the same institution.

“We are greatly honored to once again being awarded this certificate as it motivates us to renew our efforts to continue improving our systems, programs and campaigns for the purpose of preserving and encouraging environmental protection”, points out José Luis Espinoza, General Manager of Vidriera Querétaro.

The Certification ratifies that Vidriera Querétaro, a company dedicated to the manufacture of multiple types of glass containers, complies with the regulations established in the General Law for Environmental Equilibrium and Environmental Protection, after having completed the commitments resulting from the environmental audit process.

With the support of Vitro, the leading manufacturer of glass in Mexico and that in 2009 celebrates its 100th anniversary of working with a material that is 100 percent recyclable, Vidriera Querétaro renews its commitment to concentrate with positive actions regarding the environmental foot print of its operations by strengthening its permanent focus towards continuous improvement and increasing its process efficiencies.

Raúl González Sáenz, Manager of Quality, Safety and Environment for Vitro, points out the importance of this accomplishment.

“This certification joins the others awarded to rest of the Vitro manufacturing facilities that, thanks to their superior environmental quality standards, have also been acknowledged by the Mexican authorities as “Clean Industries”, he points out.
