Don Adrián Sada Treviño, a Vitro Icon, passes away
On October 13 Don Adrián Sada Treviño, Honorary President of the Board of Directors for Vitro passed away. He is survived by: Adrián Sada González, President of the Board of Directors of Vitro; Federico Sada González, CEO of Vitro, Alejandra Sada González and his wife Nelly González V. The parting of Don Adrián represents a great loss, not only for Vitro, but for México as throughout his 88 years of active life he distinguished himself as one of the most influential businessmen and visionaries of the country by overachieving in all that he pursued. At the young age of 22 he joined Fábrica de Máquinas, the machinery manufacturing company (FAMA), one of the early Vitro startup companies. There he personally gave employee training classes while creating the first Technical Trade School in the state of Nuevo León. He soon became a pioneer in the exporting of specialized machinery for glass container manufacturing and performed brilliantly in diverse areas of the company such as technology, production, finance, and Float Glass, to name a few. From 1972 to 1991 he headed Vitro, whose origin is Vidriera Monterrey (founded in 1909), an industrial icon for the state and currently one of the most important glass manufacturers in the world. The efforts and legacy of Don Adrián Sada Treviño as a businessman are distinguished by his tenacity, perseverance and innovation. He also distinguished himself as an arduous defender of environmental protection, the conservation of natural resources and promoter of sportsman ethics, qualities that led him to be internationally recognized as a defender of the environment. In social well being he was highly regarded and recognized as an example for the family by making available to all his employees and their families integrated medical attention, family formation and family recreation space through Clinica Vitro, Vitro Club and Vitro’s Parque Del Manzano. Don Adrián Sada Treviño was known as a concerned businessman over better education and therefore founded and promoted technical schools that have trained and given educational foundations to thousands of Mexicans over the last 50 years. May you rest in peace, Don Adrián Sada Treviño. |
