Be smart, separate recyclable products
  • Vitro signs an agreement with the Miguel Hidalgo Delegation (one of the 16 boroughs of Mexico City) to promote a solid waste separation culture in schools.
  • A glass compilation campaign for recycling in 660 schools will be carried out.

Vitro and the Miguel Hidalgo Delegation signed an agreement in Mexico City with the purpose to promote the knowledge and significance to separate solid waste as an effective tool to protect the environment.

The sign was carried out on August 22nd in the Miguel Hidalgo Delegation facilities by Gabriela Caves, Miguel Hidalgo Delegation Chief; Salvador Morales, Miguel Hidalgo Delegation Urban Services General Director; Víctor Cervantes, Vidriera México Human Resources Manager; and Javier Leal, Vitro Glass Containers Ecology and Recycling Manager.

Thanks to the agreement, it is planned to carry out a glass compilation campaign for recycling in the 660 schools of basic, preschool, and initial education of the Delegation.

Vitro will provide 1,200 special metallic containers for the glass compilation campaign, as well as brochures to inform the use and glass containers recycling benefits. 

The campaign started last August and will be in force until August 31, 2009.
