The Chipinque Ecological Park was founded on July 30, 1992 when a trust was formed comprised of the government of the state of Nuevo Leon and the private business sector with the objective of protecting, restoring and conserving the local ecosystems as a fundamental source for the healthy development of more than 4 million Nuevo Leon residents.

The Institution has successfully strived to promote educational and cultural ecology to achieve a sustainable development plan for the area and within it encourage centers of interest, recreation and open air spaces for the general public as well as a viable tourist destination.
