Clinica Vitro and Yakult share best practices ideas
What do Yakult and Clinica Vitro have in common? Both have a clear focus on and are oriented towards quality management, a factor that allowed them to be awarded the 2007 National Quality Prize. Based on this, management members from Yakult recently visited the Clinica Vitro installations for the purpose of seeing first hand its Quality Model and share best practices ideas. On Yakults behalf; Alejandro Kasuga, President of Yakult, Puebla; Silvia Arroyo, Quality Director; and Miguel Ángel Cisneros, Finance Director; were hosted by a Clinica Vitro entourage headed by Jesús Horacio González, Director of Vitro’s Medical Services. “Through the National Quality Award’s office Yakult requested a visit to Clinica Vitro to learn about our experiences in our participation in the Ibero American Quality Award and analyze comparisons between the two companies in Best Practices”, Jesús Horacio González tells us. The visitors had the opportunity to tour the facilities and examine conceptual maps of the different criteria that make up Clinica Vitro’s Quality Model including such aspects as: Leadership, Planning, Clients, Personnel, Processes and Results. “Both Yakult and Clinica Vitro are convinced that Best Practices is no deep dark secret; therefore the importance of sharing for the purpose of gaining mutual benefits and help contribute to better performance in our respective organizations”, González assures us. He adds that Yakult is a highly prestigious company that operates in over 30 countries and counts on the experience of more than a half century in promoting healthy lifestyles through its quality products for which reason it is an honor for us to be selected for comparison purposes. He points out that “even though we are two companies with totally different focuses (one delivers products and the other services) our focus on quality connects us and allows us to make future comparisons”. González concludes that the visit was very fruitful. “They were gracious enough to invite us to visit their installations and continue sharing new experiences regarding process improvement, leadership, clients and personnel”, he concludes.
