Vitro’s automotive glass plant in Aguascalientes achieved the recommendation to continue operations under the international norms ISO/TS 16949:2009 and ISO 14001 following an audit undertaken by VCA, one of the authorized and most important international organizations worldwide to certify Administrative Systems of Quality Control in the automotive industry.
The technical specification ISO/TS 16949 has been developed by the automotive industry for the purpose of promoting improvement in the supply chain and certification process. The international norm ISO 14001 allows organizations to control environmental risks in an effective manner as well as pursue continuous improvement in environmental issues.
“The certification in both standards gives our clients confidence and assurance by being an excellent calling card that increases the probabilities of new business opportunities”, points out Baldomoro Gardea, VP of Vitro Automotiz Equipo Original.
He adds that both certificates were awarded in 2009 and are valid through 2012.
“It is worth mentioning that the VCA auditor detected no important irregularities and pointed out that the plant has in place well defined and documented processes, as well as the quality control system is working correctly”, confirms Alejandro Ruiz, Coordinator for Quality Control Systems of Vitro Automotiz.
Vitro Automotiz’s plant in Aguascalientes supplies assembled windows, windshields, rear windows, side back windows, and front and back doors to key clients truly committed to quality, such as Nissan Mexicana, among others.
