With the purpose of offering safety, comfort, functionality and significant energy savings, Vitro supplied nearly 7,000 square meters of architectural glass for the Regional Maternity and Infant Specialty Hospital located in metropolitan Monterrey. ”Congruent with our philosophy of delivering to the client products that adapt to 100% of their needs, we provided technical assistance to determine the glazing attributes that best suited this particular Project”, points out Alejandro Leal, Flat Glass Commercial Manager for Architectural Products. He adds that as we were dealing with a hospital with an innovative design, we proposed to install on the facades Reflectasol and Douvent, both high performance glass with thermal and acoustical properties.
“The advantage of using these types of products, in their different formats and thicknesses, is the reduction in the transmission of heat and cold to the interior of the building allowing for significant energy savings thanks to the better utilization of artificial climate control. In addition it protects the interior from exterior noise which proves very beneficial to doctors, nurses and patients”, he comments. Inaugurated in 2007 by Mexican President Felipe Calderón, the first stage of the specialty hospital houses the maternity area where already more than 10,000 babies have been born. By supplying the architectural glass and technical assistance to the Regional Maternity and Infant Specialty Hospital, Vitro ratifies its commitment to actively participate in projects that benefit the community.
