The Program reinforces the human element of the company.

With the objective of opening the company doors to people with different capacities and incorporating them into the workplace with the same rights and obligations as the rest of the personnel, Vidrio Plano, one of the business units of Vitro, initiated the program “Joining Talents”.

Created in 2006 this program is based on the premise that people with special needs have the right to the same opportunities and possibilities for personal, professional and economic development as everybody else.

“We intend to incorporate the best talents into our workplace based on their ability, skills and capacity to fulfill, in a satisfactory manner, their assigned responsibility, independent of any motor, seeing, intellectual or hearing disability” points out Ángel Martínez, Planning and Personnel Development Manager for Flat Glass.

He adds that the employees who have joined the company through this program have proven to be extraordinary employees and coworkers. To date this program has hired 25 people.

“These colleagues are punctual, responsible and carry out their assigned duties with the highest level of quality and productivity just as superior as any other employee; with such high performance, intense dedication and devotion they implant a special pride to their work that is contagious to their coworkers making them true role models to follow”, comments Ricardo Matus, Automotive Human Resources Manager.

Besides, they are very grateful to the corporation that opened its doors and therefore are highly reliable employees and contribute to a reduction in employee turnover.

According to Marcela Garza, Planning and Human Development Advisor, we receive the advice and official certificate from the System for Family Integration of the state of Nuevo León (DIF), an institution that performs medical, psychological and ability evaluations of the candidates leading to the determination of what kind of activity the person could best perform in the company, an exercise that contributes to guaranteeing optimal functioning of the program.

”Through “Joining Talents” we seek to strengthen our focus on the human element of the company, stimulating a new and more inclusive work culture by offering an opportunity to those who wish to excel and enjoy professional fulfillment in spite of their adversities, as well as encourage the building of a more equal society for all”, concludes Garza.

This is just one more program of the multiple initiatives that Vitro has implemented to demonstrate its commitment to society and the community.
