Last May 6 the Ambassador from México to Spain, Jorge Zermeño, inaugurated the stand put together by Vitro in the 11th showing of the International Show for Windows and Glass Enclosures (Veteco) which has become one of the most important expositions in its field in all of Europe.

“In addition to congratulating Vitro for its participation in this important event, I wish to point out its valuable contribution to the industrial development of México as well as in the promotion of economic relations  between México and España”, he told all  those present.

Vitro is the only Mexican company that attended this exhibition in which participated almost 800 companies of the construction sector. All kinds of materials and products innovations, as well as a wide range of isolation glazing technological solutions are shown at Veteco.

José Cubillo, Vitro Cristalglass President, thanked the Ambassador’s presence; the architects who designed the stand and those clients attending the show, as he commented on the characteristics and innovations of the Vitro stand, a Mexican company that in 2009 will be celebrating its first centennial.

“This year our stand, 72 percent larger than the stand in the previous Veteco event, presents the largest ruby and diamond made in glass thanks to a combination of extracted glass and silk screen process Superdual-T which achieves an unprecedented contrast”, he explained.

He added that this is just a sample of the capacity of Vitro Cristalglass to utilize value added, complex processes on large dimension glass and our ability to offer and suggest uses and applications for the glass.

For the purpose of lending greater value to the presence of Vitro Cristalglass in Veteco, it is sponsoring the Greater Forum of Higher Architecture that brings together the most important current day architects from Spain where they contemplate presenting two very relevant lectures, among other initiatives.

Rafael de la Hoz

He pointed out, “one of the lectures will be presented by one of the most prestigious Spanish architects, Rafael de La-Hoz, and the other will be presented two young upcoming and promising architects, Camila Aybar y Juan José Mateos, designers of this year’s stand at Veteco as well as the previous one”.

In addition, Juan Manuel De Nigris, Director of Expansion Planning for Vitro Cristalglass, emphasized the presence and social commitment of Vitro in all of the communities where it operates and in the specific case of Vitro Cristalglass; in Spain, Portugal and France.

“We are proud that a Mexican corporation such as Vitro continues to move forward by once again participating in Veteco and expanding our geographic coverage in Europe, through the recent acquisition of the assets of French company”, he emphasized.

This company is Vitro Cristalglass France SAS, located in Paris and dedicated to the conversion and commercialization of flat glass to supply the French mid size residential and commercial market.
