Vitro is on the Obama’s table

The President’s wife, Michelle Obama, chooses Cooper’s Hawk, a client of Vitro Packaging, as the wine for their official toast ceremony.

On the evening prior to January 20, the day in which Barack Obama made history when he was sworn in as the 44th President of USA, his wife Michelle attended, in Washington, the traditional toasting event for the new First Lady. To celebrate such a memorable event fine wines from Cooper’s Hawk were served, a winery that uses Vitro to supply its elegant glass bottles for several of its better wines.

During the Illinois Inaugural Gala, organized by the State Society of Illinois and taking place at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C., a broad selection of red and white wines were offered from Cooper’s Hawk including the specific wine chosen by Michelle Obama for the moment of the official toast.

“It is an honor to know that at the Inaugural Gala prior to the swearing in ceremony for Barack Obama as the new President for the United Sates of America red and white wines were served from our valued client Cooper’s Hawk; definitely Vitro was well represented in Washington”, comments Richard Croak, Midwest Regional Manager for Vitro Packaging, a subsidiary of the Vitro Glass Containers business unit for the United States.

He adds that Vidriera Monterrey is responsible for supplying the wine bottles that are used by this client.

“Our business relationship has grown over time and what better proof than the fact they have relied upon us to supply a broad portfolio of their better wines such as Pinot Gris, Shiraz, The Cab Reserve, Riesling and Chardonnay”, he explains.

Cooper’s Hawk is one of the wine companies dedicated to the bottling of some of the best known wines in Illinois. Its market presence has grown thanks to the opening of wine boutique restaurants (Orland Park, Burr Ridge, Wheeling y South Barrington) where it is possible to taste the great quality of its wines.

To make its wines the company buys grapes from all over the United States including Washington, California, Illinois and Michigan to produce 125 thousand gallons of wine per year. Most of its fine wines are in price ranges under $25 dollars.
