With the purpose of informing clients and architects about the multiple benefits in using glass in architectural projects, Vitro organized a series of conferences in different Portuguese cities.

Aveiro, Braga, Chaves, Leiría, Lisboa and Porto were some of the cities where the informative conferences were held by Vitro Cristalglass, and Vitro Chaves, Vitro subsidiaries in Spain and Portugal.

The lectures labeled “Glass solutions for energy savings and efficiency” were targeted to professionals in building enclosures and design.

“We are proud of this initiative that gave us the opportunity to point out the enormous potential that glass offers in architecture, due to its esthetic, thermal, acoustical and safety properties among others with the corresponding benefits that accompany these, mainly very significant energy savings”, comments Joaquim Chaves, Director of Vitro Chaves.

He adds that we took advantage of the occasion to confirm that Vitro’s products comply totally with the norms established by the Technical Building Code, the normative guidelines that establish the building requirements that must be followed as dictated by the Iberian Legislature.

During the different meetings, attended by more than 300 fascinated people, the new range of SOLARLUX® products was unveiled (Solarlux® Natucolor-E y Solarlux® HT).

Solarlux translates into considerable cost savings in energy.

“This new variety of glass products contain a thin metallic coating with qualities for solar control and lower energy emissions that translate into considerable cost savings in energy”, explained Jorge Alberto Yarté, Vitro Chaves South Zone Portugal Project Technician.

This is not the first time these informative sessions have been conducted, as from time to time conversations have been undertaken with architects and key players in the construction industry to keep them informed of the different applications that glass offers.

“Through these efforts we are able to enjoy closer personal contact with the architects and clients in the area, offering them greater understanding of the building qualities of our products as well as their potential added value”, assures Armando Ribeiro, Vitro Chaves North Zone Portugal Project Technician.

With the fulfillment of these conferences, Vitro shows once again its keen customer focus, its inexhaustible creative process and innovation as part of its ongoing promotion of sustainable development.
