Commemorating its 140th anniversary with a more elegant and sophisticated image. |

“We still produce Tequila Herradura with the same traditional processes that we’ve been using for 140 years but we’re commemorating our 140th anniversary with a new elegant and sophisticated image. The new bottle dignifies and honors the extraordinary quality of its contents. With the change in image we are improving the bottles’ outside without altering its unbeatable contents”, declares Randy McCann Santaella, President of Casa Herradura Brown-Forman.
Produced by Vidriera Guadalajara, the new tequila bottle is a square shape and eliminates a paper label to better appreciate its contents and now the decorative label is in the shape of a metal horseshoe. The black satin cap is decorated with a ribbon whose color indicates which presentation of tequila is in the bottle.
The manufacture of the bottles in 700, 750,950 and 1,000 ml represents a high degree of difficulty, due to the complexity of the engraving on the bottle’s body and the type of label application used on the product.
“We are very pleased to be the suppliers of this important project for Tequila Herradura, a company recognized for its superior quality tequila, that, since 1870, has put Mexico’s name at the forefront of the industry around the world”, mentions Alfonso Gomez Palacio, President of Vitro’s Glass Containers business unit
The annual volume of tequila consumed in Mexico is approximately 7.5 million 9 liter cases that is equivalent to 35% of the worldwide consumption; one of every three bottles consumed in Mexico is tequila and Mexicans have the highest per capita consumption in the world.
There are 901 registered brands from 128 different tequila producers in Mexico and approximately 7% of the total is classified, in the market, as “premium” or “super premium” according to 2009 statistics from the Tequila Regulating Council.
From its beginnings Vitro has served the growing needs of the Mexican tequila industry supporting the success of many world renowned brands and thus has become the principal supplier of glass bottles to the industry. |
