DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions has appointed Vitro Cristalglass, an affiliate of Vitro Europe, as its alliance partner for the promotion of DuPont™ SentryGlas® interlayers in Spain, Portugal and France.
The specially-engineered interlayers from DuPont are five times more tear-resistant and up to 100 times stiffer than standard PVB interlayers, leading to the production of thinner, larger and lighter laminated glazing systems for use in facades, balustrades, flooring and overhead installations.
As part of the alliance agreement, Vitro Cristalglass, a leading supplier of glass to the construction industry in Spain and Portugal and an important player in France, will work with DuPont on the development of innovative and differentiated laminated glazing products which are tailored to local requirements and will be co-branded with the SentryGlas® name.
Cooperation between the two companies will also focus on ensuring compliance of these products with national building standards and codes, as well as generating market awareness through joint marketing activities.
“The purpose of the SentryGlas® Alliance is to extend awareness for the properties and benefits of laminated glass made with SentryGlas® interlayers, and to establish our partners as a local of expertise for architects and engineers seeking to benefit from this high-performance and lightweight glazing technology,” says Michael Fehlings, European Business Development Manager at DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions.
“Our decision to work with Vitro Cristalglass as an alliance partner for the Spanish, Portuguese and French markets was based on the company’s existing technical capabilities to develop new glazing technologies and products, and its willingness to drive innovation with SentryGlas®,” he adds.
According to Alberto Gómez, Marketing Manager for Vitro Cristalglass, the alliance with DuPont represents a further opportunity for Vitro to incorporate new solutions in its customers’ projects.
“The possibility to include SentryGlas® in our proposals to architects, coupled with DuPont’s technical support, constitutes real added value for our customers and should help guarantee a successful future for all parties,” he confirms.
