Vitro supports entrepreneur women
  • Vitro participates on the panel of Social Responsibility in Business in the Sexto Congreso, Primer Encuentro Internacional de Mujeres Empresarias.
  • The company offers its broad vision of sustainable development.

Around 20.5 percent of our employees are women.

Although there are many challenges women face these days, they have discovered the correct procedures to make their way in the work market, and even get to be managers, making important contributions to economic and social development in the business world, not just due to the economic overflow represented, but also in the way they manage, which includes their creativity.

That is why, from October 30 to November 2 of the current year, the Sexto Congreso, Primer Encuentro Internacional de Mujeres Empresarias y Expo Pyme Monterrey 2008 (2008 Sixth National Congress, the First International Meeting of Women Managers, and Expo Pyme Monterrey) was held, in which Vitro proudly had outstanding participation.

This congress has the objective of offering a space for female managers and entrepreneurs, which will provide the necessary information to be able to open their company, through conferences, exhibitions, business meetings and discussion plans.

Vitro had the chance to share its experience on the subject of Social Responsibility in management, with around one thousand participants, on a panel bearing the same name with representatives from other companies who are recognized worldwide, and have a wide trajectory in this area.
“Around 20.5 percent of our employees are women and we have observed a notable increase in their hiring for full time jobs as well as managing and executive positions”, stated Lucía Sada, Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator.
Sada elaborated on Vitro´s main projects related to sustainable development, such as glass recycling, Clínica Vitro, Museo del Vidrio, Cátedra Vitro, Uniendo Talentos and others.

"Vitro was created in 1909 with a definite philosophy, to offer Quality products and services in order to generate economic value that is balanced with the integral wellbeing and development of the employees. It was a pioneer in the practice of social security, community development, and environmental care," she concluded.
