Vitro was acknowledged by Monterrey authorities for its important contributions to society through its employment programs for people with special needs.

The event was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Monterrey and was attended by Nieves Quiroga de Madero, President of the DIF of Monterrey; Alejandra Sada de Margáin, Secretary of Economic Development for Monterrey; Guadalupe Flores de la Fuente, Regional DIF Director; Patricia Zambrano Martínez, Director for the Care of People with Special Needs and the Elderly; as well as Eduardo Rodríguez, from Vitro’s Human Resources area.

Nieves Quiroga de Madero, President of the DIF of Monterrey thanked Vitro for its support along with eleven other companies during their participation in the three Employment Fairs for people with special needs and the elderly.  

On behalf of Vitro Francisco Rodríguez, Director of Human Resources for Flat Glass pointed out to those gathered that it is very important for the company to offer opportunities for personal and professional development to all sectors of society.

“For this reason in our corporate Code of Ethics we clearly manifest that we respect all our employees without distinction to their race, creed, ethnic group, gender, handicap or sexual preference”.

He adds that proof of this is our Program “Uniting Talents” which was created for the purpose of incorporating people with special needs into our workforce in an all inclusive environment with equal opportunities.

“Through this program we seek to integrate the best talents into our workforce based on their abilities, skills and capacity to satisfactorily accomplish the assigned task regardless if they have any kind of physical handicap”, he tells the group.

He adds that the persons who have joined the company under this program have proven to be extraordinary employees and colleagues.
