The recognition as a PME Leader

Vitro Chaves, a subsidiary of Vitro Portugal, was recently awarded the PME Leader Ruling by the Institute for Support of Small and Medium Companies and Innovation of the Portuguese Government under the auspices of its platform for Financing Growth Strategies for companies FINCRESCE/Banco BPI.

The event was held at the Santa Maria Fair in the Euro-Park and was headed by Portugal’s Prime Minister, José Sócrates, along with 2 thousand companies in attendance.

“I wish to make public my strong support and recognition for the culture and enterprising spirit of those companies that permanently strive to move forward, always pushing for greater success and by doing so exercise a positive influence on the community”, pointed out Sócrates.

Joaquin Chaves, Commercial Director for Vitro Portugal assured all present that this honor signifies a gratifying recognition of the dedication, commitment and enthusiasm of our personnel.

IAPMEI is an entity coordinated under the FINCRESCE program that has as its primary objective the optimization of the financial health of companies that pursue growth strategies and strengthen their competitive base.

Vitro Chaves: among the best companies in Portugal

According to the most recent Edition of Duns Pep, the online directory of the 10,000 Principal Companies of Portugal classified by sales volume, Vitro Chaves is positioned at number 1,248 based on Net Sales volume and is among the 1,000 most profitable companies in the country. The directory is a broad based data bank that gives detailed information on the most important companies of the country; statistics, sales, number of employees and management, among others.

Vitro Chaves forms part of the Vitro Flat Glass business unit and manufactures, processes and distributes products derived from flat glass to meet the needs of the European construction industry.
