Certified: Vitro is a Clean Industry
  • Mexican authorities acknowledge that Vidriera Querétaro operates with superior environmental quality standards.

Thanks to its extraordinary efforts and practices for the good of the environment, last November 7th Vidriera Querétaro received the Clean Industry Certification that is awarded by the Federal Agency for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) under the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources of the Mexican Government.

The certification was handed over to Eduardo Armas, General Manager of Vidriera Querétaro, by Arturo Eulogio Ortiz and Irma Elena Sánchez, Federal Representative and Assistant Representative for the Environmental Auditing Department of PROFEPA in Querétaro.

At the ceremony also present were Javier Leal, Ecology Manager for the Glass Containers business unit as well as Plant and Union Committees.

“We are extremely proud to receive once again this certification as it motivates us to renew our efforts to continuously improve our systems, programs and clean environment campaigns for the purpose of preserving and promoting environmental protection”, commented Armas.

Raúl González Sáenz, Quality, Safety and Environmental Manager for Vitro, points out that this certification is in addition to the other manufacturing facilities of Vitro, that thanks to its superior environmental quality standards, have also been certified as a Clean Industry by the Mexican authorities.

“For the past several years we have worked jointly with the authorities to undertake voluntary environmental audits in our different plants throughout the country with very satisfactory results. Our objective is not just to comply with the regulations but rather exceed them, thus generating important competitive advantages such as leaving a much cleaner world for future generations”, he concludes.
