• Representatives from the Spanish government have undertaken an audit of the company’s installations to validate its compliance to the ECE-R43 standards.
• Once again Vitro shows that it is a “world class” manufacturer of reliable automotive glass.

World Class Quality, during the visit from the Authorities performing an audit of the Quality system.

For the purpose of reviewing the compliance with the European regulation ECE-R43 as well as Vitro’s quality control system, representatives from the Spanish Government recently visited the plants that make up Vitro Automotriz and came away with an excellent impression.

The visit took place on July 7 and 8 of this year and the group was made up of representatives from the Ministry of Industry Commerce of Spain as well as representatives from the ECE-43 including, Santiago Salinero, Ignacio Madrid y Miguel Ángel Peláez

“We are very proud that the audit results were positive which ratifies our commitment to being a manufacturer of reliable and safe products for the European market”, affirms José Luis Ochoa from the area for Quality Assurance VAU ATX Plant.

He adds that the inspection consisted of a detailed analysis of the products that Vitro has certified under the ECE-43 Standards (Economic Commission of Europe - Regulation 43), the standards from the European Community that dictate the specific safety characteristics to be followed by manufacturers of automobile products.

He points out, “it is vital to comply with the standards so our products have unlimited access to the European marketplace”.

During the two day visit a thorough revision was undertaken of the operators’ skills and training in the development and understanding of the quality tests together with an audit of the general quality system of the facility.

“I wish to congratulate all those involved for the work that was done; I have come away with a very positive impression about the efforts that are being performed, as they comply to the fullest extent with the requirements of the 43 standards”, commented Santiago Salinero after his visit.
