Sustainable Solutions in the USA
  • Vitro America supplies the high performance architectural glass for the facade of a modern building in Arkansas.
  • The installed products are environmentally friendly as they contribute to electrical energy savings.

An excellent combination of esthetics and functionality.

Vitro America, a subsidiary of Vitro in the USA that processes and distributes flat glass, embraces a commitment to value added solutions for sustainable architectural needs. This was once again evident as it supplied 80,000 square feet 1” PPG Solarban 80 on Clear over Clear Insulated for the project located at #300, Third Street in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The design of this modern and 20 story multi-use structure, created for The Wilcox Group, demanded the highest quality products that conformed to the characteristics of the building.

“Thanks to technological advances, the glass that we supplied has special insulating characteristics that controls the amount of solar energy transmitted; yet allows for the passage of natural light. This product contributes to important savings in electric energy, as reliance on artificial climate control is reduced”, confirms Alice Dickerson, Vitro America Sales and Marketing Director.

The end result is an excellent combination of esthetics and functionality that regulates solar energy in an efficient manner.

She adds that sustainable building design is a fast growing trend in the construction industry, and the demand for high performing environmentally friendly products continues to rise.

In this area, Vitro America has a broad range of products that bring sustainable solutions to new age architecture.

According to Dick Owens, Dallas Area Manager, the installed capacity of Vitro America allows us to meet and surpass the daily requirements of our clients regardless of the size of the project.

“The Texas size strong-hold of our fabrication facility in Dallas is being able to come through for customers every day on projects of all sizes and within the tight lead times that almost always exist. Our image is reflected on our customer, who is dependant on Vitro America to ensure the project runs smoothly.

“We have a great team that delivers effective solutions and our clients know that their project is in good hands, thus being the reason why they trust us”, he states.

He adds that Vitro America is the proud of the fact that it can work with great glass installation companies such as Ace Glass, as well as well known construction companies in the industry such as this project which was the responsibility of the Hensel Phelps Construction Company.
